Hulk Hogan's Son Finally Free To Mingle

Hulk Hogan's 17-year-old son, Nick Bollea, will hopefully stop suffering from "unbearable anxiety" while serving his 8-month jail sentence, after he was transferred out of solitary confinement into a communal cell.

Bollea, who was charged with felony reckless driving stemming from a booze-fueled crash that caused his passenger and friend permanent brain damage, joined three other inmates (also age 17) on Thursday, although a judge previously denied his request to be transferred out of solitary confinement, a spokeswoman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. The new cell is under 24-hour supervision.

The four of them might be sharing the same space, but they're serving time for completely different charges. Jamarius Smith was charged for sale and possession of cocaine, Christopher Johnson is serving time for violating the terms of his probation after he was sentenced on a charge of robbery by sudden snatching, and Santiago Langston is serving time for fleeing and eluding police.

In the meantime, Bollea will continue his previously established schedule, that includes work from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Inmate Property. Video visitations will also continue as previously established from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays. He will also continue to have recreation time and access to a telephone, Tampa Bay Newspapers reported.

Since he started his punishment on May 12, Bollea spent 17 hours a day in a maximum-security cell because he was considered too young to live among the jail's general population. His lawyers demanded that the teen be moved claiming that this sort of confinement  "substantially amounts to cruel and unusual punishment for a juvenile and is not warranted for a non-violent first offender serving a probation sentence."

According to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda, the move was possible because the jail's population changes constantly and housing assignments are routinely reviewed thus creating an opportunity to house juveniles together.
