Speaking of hosting the Academy Awards ceremony that is to be held on Sunday, Hugh Jackman said that the event would be rife with surprises, one of them involving revealing more than expected.

During an interview backstage at the Kodak Theatre, the actor jokingly said that even though he had not told anyone yet, they would be doing most of the Oscars ceremony naked, adding that they would sing almost all throughout the event.

Jackman went even further and said that all the acceptance speeches would be sung by the lucky ones who would be going home with a trophy on Sunday.

Nevertheless, Hugh Jackman stated that some things would be covered with some strategically placed leaves, saying that they were not aiming for distasteful, but for something to symbolize the raw emotion that would shroud the entire evening.

The 40-year-old „X-Men” star, who was voted People’s magazine sexiest man alive, has served as host for the Tony Awards three times, yet this is the first time he has been chosen to host the Academy Awards.

When Jackman was asked to host the Oscars ceremony, a longtime tradition of assigning United States comedians to host the event was left behind.

At the time the news was announced, media outlets informed that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had decided to choose Jackman to host the televised ceremony that has been scheduled to be broadcast by ABC network in an attempt to make this 81 edition of the Awards more about movies.

Moreover, since Hugh Jackman is quite the heart-throb, Laurence Mark, a co-producer of the Oscars telecast, then stated that having picked him as host had also been aimed at drawing the female audience in front of their TV sets for the event commonly known as the Super Bowl for women.
