According to Nielsen SoundScan, teen country star Taylor Swift’s album "Fearless" sold 63,000 copies during the week ended on the 25th of January, this way registering a mere 1 percent slip from the previous week.
"Fearless" claimed the No. 1 position on the nation's album sales chart for the eighth consecutive week as critical favorites and early releases targeted Valentine's Day gifts. The album sold 63,000 copies in the week which ended on Sunday, earning a total amount of $2.4 million.
However this is likely to be the Taylor Swift's last week on top because veteran rocker Bruce Springsteen's "Working on a Dream," released on Tuesday, is expected to take over next week, selling at least 200,000 copies.
Beyonce's "I Am... Sasha Fierce" remained on the second position with 51,000 while Nickelback's "Dark Horse" is still at No. 3 with 45,000.
Britney Spears with her "Circus" came at No. 7 with 31,000 and the artist who came on eighth is none other than Jamie Foxx with his "Intuition" selling 30,000 copies.
Mariah Carey's "Ballads" compilation turned out to be the chart's highest debut, straight at No. 10 with 29,000 copies sold. This is the fourth best-of set that the singer has placed on the chart, following "#1's" in 1998, "Greatest Hits" in 2001 and "The Remixes" in 2003.
Early Valentine's Day shoppers scooped up 17,000 copies of Warner Music's Frank Sinatra collection called "Seduction" at No. 23.
