Hudson River Plane Crash Picture Makes Twitter User Famous

Janis Krums became famous after being the first to upload a picture of the Hudson River plane crash in New York on the well-known social website Twitter.com.

Krums, a Latvian 23-year-old man who grew up in Sarasota, stated that the whole scene happened as if he was acting in a movie. He reported that he was in a hurry to catch a ferry in order to go to a business meeting in New Jersey on January 15, just before the plane crashed.

According to him, people on board initially believed that the aircraft was a small sized Cessna, but thereafter they realized that it was actually a large Airbus plane. The ferryboat was the first ship to arrive to the crash scene. People on board struggled to help the victims to escape from the sinking plane and get medical support.

Krums added that he took an instant shot of the crash scene as soon as he saw the plane sinking. The picture was taken with its mobile phone, which has a built-in camera. After that, he quickly entered the internet, access Twitter’s website and uploaded the photo, along with a short description of the event, "There's a plane in the Hudson. I'm on the ferry going to pick up the people. Crazy."

After Krums uploaded the photo, people accessed his post and in no time, there were already over 2,000 people who saw the picture. Moreover, Krums has been since continuously contacted by reporters, making him believe that this event might increase the revenue of his vitamin supplements business.
