Lindsay Lohan will reportedly only appear in four of the six
episodes she had signed for ABC’s hit series “Ugly Betty.”
The New York Post’s Page Six column reports Lindsay Lohan
abruptly ended her guest starring turn on “Ugly Betty” due to off-screen
frictions. Lohan and lead actress America Ferrera apparently did not get along
that well during filming, which led to the freckled actress’s role being cut
out.
A publicist for Ferrera told Page Six that the young actress
felt “grateful” to have had Lohan on the show and that she invited everyone to
watch the episodes and see how “great” they turned out.
Producers from the show were similarly reserved, saying
Lohan had done “a great job.”
TVGuide.com reports however, citing “well-placed sources,”
that Lindsay Lohan will not appear in the additional episodes anymore strictly
for “storyline purposes.”
The “Mean Girls” actress first portrayed Kimmie Keegan on
the show’s season 2 finale and became a recurrent character during the third
season. Kimmie is a former schoolmate and current nemesis of Ferrera’s Betty
character.
It was reported Lindsay Lohan had signed earlier this year
to star in an upcoming biopic of Charles Manson, “The Manson Girls,” but she
has apparently in the meantime retreated from the project. She had also been
reported to star in a romantic comedy alongside Jack Black, “Ye Olde Times,”
but this too seems to have fallen through.
One film that is still on the 22-year-old’s schedule is
“Labor Pains,” a comedy about a young woman who pretends to be pregnant in
order to avoid being fired from her job. The film is scheduled for release in
2009.
