“Hotel for Dogs” is a movie that features adorable dogs of all breeds and sizes with clever set design and children.
The movie gathers Emma Roberts, Lisa Kudrow and Don Cheadle, in the story of two orphans, Andi (Emma Roberts) and Bruce (Jake T. Austin) who find themselves in a foster home after have been bounced around from shelter to shelter. In spite of all that, they manage to keep their always-hungry Jack Russell dog named Friday with them wherever they go. But things go from bad to worse for the two children when they are told that their beloved friend is not welcomed into the foster home and one day when Friday runs away from animal control he hides into an abandoned hotel where he finds two other dogs hiding out in its crumbling splendor.
By the end of the movie, with the help of some pet-store employees the kids create their own surrogate family by not only taking in every stray they can find but also by turning the hotel into a canine paradise, creating all kinds of devices to handle all the dogs’ feeding and hygiene needs. Soon enough, the dogs in "Hotel for Dogs" learn how to perform breathtaking stunts, touching love scenes, heartbreaking soliloquies with their eyes and clever tricks.
Nevertheless, the real stars of this movie are the art department, the army of animal trainers and dog wranglers, and the special effects artists who did their best so that very few kids resist the formula of dogs, toys, and lots of noise.
