Twenty-five celebrities have been announced as future additions to the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame, including “Iron Man” Robert Downey Jr., Australian actor Hugh Jackman, “Sweeney Todd” director Tim Burton and Columbian singer Shakira.

A diverse group of 25 celebrities was announced Thursday as the new batch of engraved pavement stars to adorn the Hollywood Walk of Fame starting next year.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Committee chose the recipients and the board of directors ratified the proposition. The exact dates have not been announced yet.

Among those who will be immortalized on the famous sidewalk lining Hollywood Boulevard are actors Leslie Caron (“An American in Paris,” “The L-Shaped Room,” “Chocolat”), Sir Ben Kingsley (“Gandhi”), William H. Macy, Ralph Fiennes, and Hugh Jackman.

Television stars to experience the honorary ceremony are Felicity Huffman of “Desperate Housewives” fame (coincidentally married to William H. Macy) and Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”). Music stars include Kenny “Baby Face” Edmonds, disco-era band The Village People and Columbian singer Shakira.

Director Tim Burton (“Edward Scissorhands,” “Corpse Bride,” “Sweeney Todd”) is also among the recipients, as are Cameron Diaz (“There’s Something about Mary,” “Being John Malkovich,” “Shrek”) and KFI radio personality Bill Handel and KCRW host Harry Shearer (who also provides voices for characters on “The Simpsons”).

Sadly enough, Johnny Grant, Hollywood’s honorary mayor who cheered on hundreds of actors as they happily placed their hands in cement outside the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre over the years, died in January, aged 84.

Among recent honorees are Holly Hunter, Sean Combs and Angela Basset.
