On top of their divorce scandal, Hulk Hogan's alleged affair with one of his daughter's friends, and their son's car crash last year, the Hogans are up for more trouble: the family of the young man who was critically injured in the crash involving the wrestler's son, is suing them.
The family of John Graziano, the young Iraq war veteran who was left in a semi-conscious state after Nick Hogan crashed his car back in 2007, has filed a lawsuit against the Hogans.
He is suing both Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, and his wife Linda. The suit also listed Nick Hogan as a defendant and Daniel Jacobs, the individual in the car racing against Nick, as a co-defendant. However, Daniel Jacobs pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving in February. He was fined $500, sentenced to 90 days of probation, had his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and ordered to complete 25 hours of community service.
According to court papers, filed on Monday in Pinellas County, Florida, the Graziano family is accusing Terry and Linda Bollea of negligence claiming the two should have known that their son was a reckless driver, and were also aware that their son was drinking on the day of the crash.
Linda is being held liable on one particular count, knowing of her son's reckless driving and "even encouraged his dangerous behavior".
In August 2006, Nick was behind the wheel of his father's Toyota Supra when it spun out of control on a Clearwater street and slammed backwards into a palm tree. Although he wasn't seriously hurt, his passenger, Graziano, was left in a vegetative state following the crash.
Nick faces a felony charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury. In November, his license was suspended for six months for allegedly having a blood alcohol level of 0.055 percent as a minor at the time of the accident.
The suit does not say how much money they are asking for, but reports show that the Graziano family has already spent more than $1 million in medical care.
