Claiming she had a deviated septum, "High School Musical" star, actress Ashley Tisdale, confirmed that she underwent plastic surgery on Friday.
"Growing up I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing," Tisdale was quoted by People as saying on Monday from her Los Angeles home.
The 22-year-old actress insisted that there she had a medical reason for the rhinoplasty procedure and cosmetic purposes.
"The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose," she added.
Worried that her fans might think otherwise, the singer said she wanted to make sure her impressionable young fan base knew her motivation.
"I want my fans to know the truth. I'm not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest, because my fans are everything to me."
While the five-hour procedure went smoothly, Tisdale said she felt very nervous prior to the event.
"I was completely scared," she said, adding that her mother, Lisa, was by her side for the duration.
"I wasn't looking forward to the surgery at all. I actually had trouble sleeping for a week before."
"I'm not feeling great today. It's uncomfortable and I hope this is the only time I ever have to go through something like this," added the starlet, who is expected to make a full recovery by the time the third "High School Musical" begins shooting early next year.
