High School Musical 3 Premieres Tomorrow

High School Musical 3 has become this year’s hit-movie. It all began with the first installment of the (so far) trilogy, High School Musical. It was a television film produced and broadcast by Disney Channel Original Movie. Released in January, 2006, it soon became the most successful movie from DCOM, also winning an Emmy Award.

It was soon followed by its second installment, High School Musical 2, released in 2007. The movie is just one of the movies inspired by Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. It follows the story of Troy, the jock and Gabriella, the math nerd. They meet at a ski lodge, sing together, and find themselves living in the same town and going to the same school afterwards.

They both audition for the high school musical put on by their high school, which results in the school, already split up into cliques, divided in two separate fronts. As expected, they manage to unite the school and end up together in the end.

The third installment of the television movie is a feature film that will premiere on the silver screens on the 24th of October, 2008. The movie focuses on the senior year of the Musical’s characters. If we take a look at cinematographic history, there’s a chance that High School Musical will become this generation’s Grease.

It’s uncertain whether High School Musical is or will be as catchy and memorable as the cult-musical Grease, but its popularity is quite surprising. The most notable difference is that High School Musical is a lot more clean – no kissing in the first movie and definitely no sex.

Another difference is that Grease 2 flopped at the box office, while High School Musical 2 got even more people to tune in on Disney. There’s no question that High School Musical 3 will be a hit movie – at least at the box office.
