Early Sunday evening, a helicopter crashed near Sunrise Beach in Camden County. Authorities said that several people were in the aircraft and one of them was not found.

According to the Kansas City Star, the helicopter was carrying five people and it crashed in Camden County, near Sunrise Beach. The remaining 4 people were rescued.

The Missouri State Water Patrol did not make public the identities of the five persons.

The helicopter was supposed to land at about 7:30 in a private residence in Sunrise Beach, but it began spinning and, after a while, it crashed into the water, authorities reported.

Some witnesses said that the weather conditions were extremely bad when the accident happened. The aircraft went down near the 15-mile marker in front of the Porta Cima Golf Course, reported MyFox Saint Louis.

Steven Hermann told FOX 2 News that the helicopter was about 40 or 50 feet above the Lake of the Ozarks when it started spinning. He also said that it took the helicopter few seconds to crash into the water.

Authorities said that the Federal Aviation Administration was informed about the accident and an investigation will be started.
