Reality television starlets Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt
married last week in Mexico
and not only did they not orchestrate a paparazzi event, they didn’t even
inform their families of the wedding.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt love the paparazzi. The
couple loves them so much they invite their camera-bearing friends for
“spontaneous” photo-shoots and the two lovebirds bring their own props. So it
comes as a surprise that Speidi, as they’ve been nicknamed, would go and do
something secretly, hidden away from curious eyes. Yet it appears they have
done just this.
The 22-year-old Montag and 25-year-old Pratt revealed to
celebrity blogger Perez Hilton that they tied the knot. The happy event
happened in Mexico
at the One & Only Palmilla Resort, just outside Cabo San Lucas. It
apparently was a spur of the moment decision, a romantic idea come to them out
of the blue. Montag confessed she couldn’t stop crying when they said their
vows.
Montag and Pratt had left for their vacation on Thursday and
told absolutely no one they had any elopement plan on their minds. Montag’s
father was taken by surprise when People magazine contacted him but was
good-natured, commenting only that another wedding would have to take place so
friends and family can participate this time and rejoice in their nuptials.
Montag and Spencer are practically inseparable…wherever
there is one, you can expect to see the other as well. They star in MTV reality
series “The Hills” and have been a couple since 2006, with an occasional
temporary break-up. Less than a year ago, in December 2007, Montag revealed –
to whoever it was of interest – that she had broken off her engagement with
Pratt. The separation was short-lived though.
Earlier this summer, Pratt directed her first video for the
song “Higher.” It featured the blond starlet wearing a skimpy hot pink bikini
and frolicking on a beach and was widely panned by the public. (More singles
and another video followed anyway, with Montag thanking everyone who had
bothered to make a comment on her musical efforts.)
The 22-year-old has also launched her own fashion line, Heidiwood, as has her
former best friend and fellow cast member on “The Hills” Lauren Conrad.
Montag revealed last year that she underwent rhinoplasty and
breast augmentation because she had been battling with low self-esteem
connected to her body-image problems for years.
The more confident Montag and her husband of two days are to
appear on an episode of CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” in January, for fans
to enjoy and naysayers to blast.
