Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt took everyone off guard by eloping in a private ceremony in Mexico and returning to share the details with their fans and the press.

Apparently, 25-year-old Spencer Pratt finally grew up and Heidi Montag agreed it was time to take their relationship to the next level and become husband and wife. Fans should be relieved after watching their bumpy relationship unfold on MTV's reality series "The Hills." The pair took off last week and secretly tied the knot in Cabos San Lucas, Mexico, on Nov. 20, Usmagazine.com reported.

"The minute we said our vows, I couldn't stop crying," Montag was quoted by the mag as saying of the ceremony at the One & Only Palmilla Resort. Although short, the ceremony was very intense according to the bride and groom.

"Heidi, from the moment you came into my life, I knew my life would never be the same without you," Pratt reportedly told his bride. "You are the light in my life like the sun to the earth! Your loving warmth makes me want to be a better person. Being with you, I feel complete.

"I'm honored to even be able to call you my wife. You are the most amazing, loving and caring woman on this planet. I will love you forever and always."

The idea to get married right there and then on the beach belonged to Pratt, who popped the question last year after eight months of dating.

"We had some margaritas on the beach. I brought it up," Pratt said. "I was just putting it out there, how easy it would be with no family drama, no issues with friends or former friends. … We asked if the chapel was available, and they said yes." The wedding rings problem was easily solved too.

"The hotel had a store, and these were the only rings they had," Montag revealed. "They are made of leather."

While having no family members around sounded good at the time, Heidi's father was shocked he wasn't invited, and expects his daughter to have another ceremony in the states.

"I would be upset if she got married and didn’t invite me!" Bill Montag told People, "Then we just have to have another wedding here!"

Heidi's mom wasn't too pleased to hear the news either, nor were Spencer's folks apparently. The 22-year-old called up her mom right before the ceremony and tried to hint at what was going to happen, but she was surprised by her mom's reaction who asked her if she and Spencer had broken up.

"I told her it might be something else, and she said, 'Well, if you ever plan on getting married just know that your stepdad is really upset that you want your father to walk you down the aisle,'" Montag told Usmagazine.com. "She was starting so much drama, it kind of pushed me toward wanting to get married without that," Montag continued.

"I don’t know when I’ll tell her," she added. Well, she'd better hurry up before her wedding photos in Us Weekly hit the newsstands.
