The Actress who became famous all around the world for her roles in Dynasty and Melrose Place was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the Santa Barbara area.

Heather Locklear, 47, was spotted "driving erratically" while pulling out of a parking lot and was later found by a California Highway Patrol officer in her car parked on a state highway and blocking a traffic lane in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, about 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The “concerned citizen” alerted the cops by reporting to the CHP Ventura Dispatch that Locklear was "driving forwards and backwards over a pair of sunglasses and revving her engine" in the parking lot.

After she was asked some questions, the officer booked her on suspicion of driving under the influence of unknown substances and drove her to the Santa Barbara CHP office. Her alcohol test was negative, but there are still investigations on a possible prescription drug use.

"She was evaluated by a drug recognition expert, who concluded Ms. Locklear was under the influence of a controlled substance, and could not safely operate a motor vehicle."

Representatives from the actress have not given any official statements yet, but the authorities reported that Locklear was released without having to post bail.

After her divorce last year, when she parted ways with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora after 11 years of marriage, Heather Locklear was reportedly fighting anxiety and depression and checked into a medical clinic in June to seek treatment.

Her ex was also caught red handed on the road, as he was arrested last spring on a DUI charge, to which he pleaded no contest. Reports say that the former couple’s daughter Ava was in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
