Although she might have a stellar future ahead of her if she ever chooses her parents’ career path, Heath Ledger’s 3-year-old daughter Matilda will grow up as far away as possible from Hollywood, and her mother actress Michelle Williams hopes she might want to become a doctor, although Matilda is currently more interested in being a cowgirl.
Speaking to British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, Matilda's Brooklyn-based mother Michelle Williams, 28, said that she won't relocate to Los Angeles, “for all the obvious reasons ... being an actor's daughter. It's a town that's about one thing, and I want her to have options.”
Heath Ledger, who died of an accidental drug overdose in January 2008, became only the second performer to win an Oscar posthumously as he was remembered for his work as the psychotic Joker in “The Dark Knight.”
Speaking more about her life after Ledger’s tragic death, Williams said she wants her daughter to have a normal life as much as possible and she now spends her time “cooking, baking, cleaning and sewing,”
Commenting publicly for the first time on life since Ledger's passing, Williams, who hasn’t set foot on a movie set since May last year, admitted she felt “burned out,” but she is slowly “coming back to my wits.”
“Ultimately, I am not yet ready to work. I've actually really been enjoying not working,” Williams said, adding that she would be happy working on movie for $300,000 for the rest of her life, if the roles are interesting.
Being an actress “comes with so much baggage,” the “Wendy and Lucy” actress said, “It used to be a refuge and now it's a hassle.”
