Looks like the family of "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere, who was often dubbed by tabloids as the next Lindsay Lohan, is "helping" her live up to the name as her father was arrested for allegedly battering his wife, Hayden’s mom and manager, Lesley Vogel.

According to TMZ.com, Alan Panettiere was taken into custody early Monday morning when law enforcements were called at their West Hollywood residence after an argument broke out. Hayden's dad, who was reportedly charged with one felony count of domestic violence for bruising his wife, remains in custody on $50,000 bail.

The two started fighting after returning home from the reception for Hayden's charity benefit for the Whalemen Foundation held at Eva Longoria’s Beso restaurant. Milo Ventimiglia, "Desperate Housewives" star, Eva Longoria and her husband Tony Parker, were also in attendance.

According to Alan, his wife Lesley "disrespected" him by "hanging" with another man, so in his anger burst he struck her across the face. In spite of paramedics' advice to go have her injuries checked at the hospital, Lesley refused to go but the police took some pictures of her bruises.

"There was a domestic argument between the mother and father," Sgt. Scott Wolf of the West Hollywood sheriffs told People.com. "He got upset and struck the mother in the face one or two times on the left cheek which caused some bruising. From what I'm told, he hit her with a closed fist. It's unclear whether either party was intoxicated.

"The mother called police shortly before 3 a.m., and Mr. Panettiere was taken into custody," Sgt. Wolf added. "He's been cooperative. Earlier, they were at a party and the husband apparently felt disrespected by his wife."

Wolf told People that 49-year-old Alan was arrested on the felony charge instead of a misdemeanor because "there were visible signs of injury" on 52-year-old Lesley Vogel's face.

It is unknown yet whether Hayden or her brother, Jansen Panettiere, were present during the altercation. Even though Hayden arrived together with her family, she was seen leaving in her boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia's car.

It's disappointing to see that Hayden's mom and dad are turning out to be another textbook pair of Hollywood parents. It happened to Macaulay Culkin’s parents, Britney Spears’ parents and of course the Lohans.

A devoted whale activist, Hayden has a warrant out for her arrest in Japan for obstruction of commerce after she attempted to block a pod of dolphins from being led into a nearby cove for massacre by fishermen.

The 18-year-old actress has previously appeared on such shows as "Ally McBeal," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Commander in Chief." Her film credits include the family comedy "Racing Stripes" and "Remember the Titans," and the Disney Channel movie "Tiger Cruise."
