Hollywood actor David Hasselhoff asked for an apology and threatened to take legal action against British tabloid "The Sun" for printing a story that claimed he celebrated winning the custody of his kids partying and getting drunk.
Hasselhoff, who admitted he is a recovering alcoholic, was recently awarded full physical custody of his two daughters, 14-year-old Hayley and 17-year-old Taylor, by a Los Angels Judge.
Days after the court hearing, the British tabloid published an article saying a "boozy" Hasselhoff was knocking over tables and demanding drinks from strangers at Les Deux nightclub in Hollywood.
The "Baywatch" and "Knight Rider" star denied the rumors and asked for the newspaper to apologize or else, he will sue.
"He did not do what they said he did," Hasselhoff's British lawyer, Simon Smith, said. "He would not behave like that in public."
The issued apology will have to be on the same page where the initial article was posted and if they refuse, Smith threatened to file a lawsuit at Britain's High Court on Monday.
Last month, a leaked tape showing the "America‘s Got Talent" judge drunk on the floor of his Las Vegas house while trying to eat a burger, forced Superior Court Judge Mark A. Juhas to suspend his visitation rights for two weeks. Little after the incident the actor came clean about his recovery from alcoholism.
