David Hasselhoff was hospitalized Saturday to have something
removed above his eye and was expected to be released late Monday evening, his
publicist said.
Former “Baywatch” star David Hasselhoff checked into UCLA Medical
Center on Saturday as he
needed a facial operation to fix a surgical wound above his eye that had
reopened, the Associated Press reported.
His publicist, Judy Katz, told the AP Monday that he had
something “removed” above his eye.
“He’s fine, he had something removed, he’s coming out
tonight,” Katz said, declining to elaborate on what was removed.
Katz also denied rumors that Hasselhoff had checked into
rehab. Half a year ago, the 55-year-old actor was treated in a hospital for
alcoholism after having a relapse.
Last week, Hasselhoff agreed to pay $25,000 a month to
support his ex-wife Pamela Bach and their two teenage daughters, 17-year-old
Taylor, and 15-year-old Hayley, thus finalizing a lengthy divorce settlement. The
girls receive an additional $4,000 from their father. Bach and Hasselhoff were
married in 1989 and divorced in 2006. They share joint custody of their
children.
As to the Hoff’s upcoming projects, he stars in horror film “Anaconda
3: The Offspring,” a Sci Fi Channel movie event which is the sequel to the
movies “Anaconda” (1997) and “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid.”
“Anacondas 4: Trail of Blood” will also star Hasselhoff.
The actor, famous throughout the 1980s and ‘90s for starring
in the hugely successful US television series “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider,” is also preparing for a third season of “America’s
Got Talent,” which premieres June 24 on NBC. He has been a judge for the
previous two seasons.
