Two days ago Apple has released a
version 7.5 update to its popular service iTunes, and this way it has also
added support to a brand new interactive music game titled “Phase”. This
music-themed game has been created by Harmonix Music System, which is the video
game developer that has launched in 2005 “Guitar Hero”. Harmonix represents
also the creator of “Amplitude” and “FreQuency”, which are two music-themed video
games that are similar to both “Guitar Hero” and this recently launched “Phase”
game.
“Phase” is now available on Apple’s
iTunes Store for purchase and download for $4.99. The game has been published
through MTV Networks / Viacom and it is compatible with the iPod Classic, the 5th
generation iPod and with the 3rd generation iPod Nano. “Phase” can’t
be currently played also on the iPhone or on iPod Touch.
“Phase” lets the players listen
to the songs in their iTunes library while they are actually playing them as an
interactive game. The players must click and glide their iPod’s Click Wheel
along with the rhythm of the music and they must try to catch the notes and
this way to collect bonus phrases for extra points.
Thanks to the new iTunes 7.5
update, Apple has created a new playlist, the Phase Music. It in this playlist
where the “Phase” players could drag and drop the songs they want to listen to
while playing the game. iTunes will then automatically create the gameplay info
for those tracks.
So, “Phase” is on iTunes and you
should not miss it, because it rocks!
