MTV Games and Harmonix yesterday confirmed the availability of The Beatles: Rock Band at the end of summer 2009. The game will ship on September 9, and will be available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3, and will be available simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other territories.
The game will offer dedicated fans the possibility to play the guitar, bass, mic or drums, and get in the shoes of world’s greatest musicians. And the offer doesn’t stop here, as Harmonix also announced the game will come with a limited number of replicas of instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star.
The Beatles: Rock Band will also come as a standalone software and hardware, or as a limited edition bundle, and will be compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers and peripherals.
The Beatles: Rock Band Software will be available for $59.99, The Beatles: Rock Band Standalone Guitars will be available for $99.99 and The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle will be available for $249.99.
For now, we still don’t know what the music list looks like, however, there are still quite a few months in which to find out. But one things fans should really be happy about for now is that the game creator has opted for a simultaneous release on all three major consoles, so that every single Beatles can enjoy it immediately.
Rock Band, the game released by Harmonix and MTV, has had an enormous success. The continuous competition with rival Guitar Hero has kept its creators searching for new ways of attracting fans, so what better way of doing that than relying on world’s most famous band of all times.
