The special 3D engagement of Walt Disney Pictures’ “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour,” with tickets running $15 a piece, has seen crazed preteens across the nation rushing to see their idol. The movie, which features footage from Miley’s sold out Hannah Montana 69-city winter tour, is screened nationally for just one week, starting yesterday.
However, fans whose parents could not snatch tickets have further chances to see Miley Cyrus on her Disney Channel sitcom, or in the upcoming full length feature film based on the popular “Hannah Montana” series. The movie will supposedly start filming this summer, and it was planned by Disney a few months ago.
The first half of the 3D show features Montana, the incarnation where she has the long blond tresses and the second half features Cyrus, whose hair and music are both darker than Montana's. While kids dig it, grownups and critics often consider the sold-out show a shallow money-making scheme off the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus franchise.
Pop teen Miley Cyrus, the 15-year-old daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, announced this week that she has changed her birth name Destiny Hope to Miley Ray Cyrus. She said Miley fits her more than her real name. When she was a child she used to be called “Smiley” because she smiled a lot. From here it turned to “Miley” and that’s how her family and friends is calling her. She wanted to keep the name which made her famous and added as middle name her father’s name, Ray.
Last month, Miley Cyrus was caught using a body double during a concert from the Best of Both Worlds Tour. According to OK! Magazine, at least one fan complained that Miley used a body double during one song so she could change her costume.
On a video of Hannah Montana posted on YouTube, she could be seen as one of her dancers whisked her away through a side door underneath the drums. Immediately after that, a Hannah look-alike came out wearing the same outfit, pink sparkly coat and white boots, covered up with big white sunglasses.
She is the star of the Disney Channel Original Series, Hannah Montana, where she plays Miley Stewart, a high school girl who transforms on weekends in Hannah Montana, a pop diva. The show premiered on March 24, 2006 and two years later it was broadcasted in almost every continent in the world.
Her album “Hannah Montana” has sold 3.2 million copies in the United States and more than 4 million worldwide. Destiny Hope "Miley" Cyrus, 15, was the subject of a pregnancy rumor hoax in late September. According to Disney Channel Executive Vice President Gary Marsh, Miley Cyrus was chosen for Hannah Montana because of her energetic and lively performance.
