The latest Will Smith movie, ‘Hancock,’ will hit theaters Wednesday, July 2, and looking at what other films in which the star acts did, it seems that this one has all the chances of becoming another box office hit.
Hancock, played by Smith, is a superhero that seems to like booze better than fighting crime and it looks like this is the reason for which all the attempts he makes at helping people and the world go from bad to worse.
People don’t like him, and he doesn’t care about this. But all these are about to change as a well intentioned publicist, called Ray Embrey, portrayed by Jason Bateman, comes to him and offers his help in improving Hancock’s image, as well as the way he deals with problems.
The movie is an action packed comedy that wants to offer a new perspective on what a superhero could look and act like. And looking at Smith’s record, action plus comedy equals the sort of film the actor feels most comfortable in.
There is a huge possibility that the movie will become a box office hit, and this is not related just to the statistics around the movies that had Will Smith in their cast.
According to the ABC News, the actor spends a lot of his time reading movie reviews and the way they fared at the box office in order to have a good idea on what people like to watch, and based on this information he chooses what projects he’ll accept.
This seems to have worked well for Smith, whose latest 8 movies cashed more than $100 million each.
