Halle Berry made some shocking confessions recently, taking honesty to the next level – she admitted she has been so desperate in her love life that she even considered suicide.

Academy Award winner Halle Berry has said before that she hasn’t dealt the best cards when it comes to love. Two failed marriages stand as proof of this.

She divorced Atlanta Braves player David Justice in 1996, after four years of marriage. A second four-year matrimonial union, this time to R&B singer Eric Benet, ended in divorce as well, in 2005.

The actress admitted to Parades magazine that her first failed marriage led her on the brink of desperation. “I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me,” she told the magazine.

‘She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do. It was all about a relationship. My sense of worth was so low,” Halle confessed. “I promised myself I would never be a coward again.”

Her second attempt at marital bliss was no luckier. She said her relationship with Eric Benet was “really horrific ... We were in sex rehab after one year. I wish I had left then, but I was putting everyone's needs before mine.”

But as bad as it was then, things are looking sunnier these days. She’s in a relationship with Canadian-born model Gabriel Aubrey, nine years her junior. The two have been dating since 2006, after meeting at a Versace photo shoot.
