A very pregnant and glowing Halle Berry is making headlines yet again just for looking gorgeous in a blue, feathery Versace gown as she arrived for the London premiere of her latest flick "Things We Lost in the Fire" at the Odeon West End on Wednesday.
The Oscar-winning actress, who is expecting a baby with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, a model 10 years younger than her, looked breath-taking at the red carpet premiere where she posed for photographers and signed autographs for half an hour. Asked by reporters how she was feeling, she replied in a joyful tone "Fantastic!"
In "Things We Lost in the Fire," the 41-year-old star portrays a widow with children struggling to survive and deal with her limitations as she invites her late husband's best friend, played by Benicio Del Toro, to live with them. After playing the part, Halle said she was convinced she had to become a mother.
"It’s no mystery that right after we finished the movie it manifested itself in my life because I think I subconsciously knew, ’Yes, I can do this. I’m really, really ready’," she said.
"I was really wanting to be a mother so badly," she said, "and I'm sure that's why I gravitated towards this material, because I often and in the middle of making a movie and I say, this is why I chose this, because something in the movie allowed me to express something I've wanted to express in my real life," she told The Early Show anchor Hannah Storm.
She recently revealed she had given herself time until 45 to make it happen, even though it becomes harder after a woman is over 35.
"I had hoped that I wouldn't miss it. And we were just so happy. I can't even describe the feeling of joy. You know because you have three children, so it's a feeling that is just -- it's better than any feeling I think I've ever had in my entire life, any emotion I've ever had," she added.
Speaking about the past four months since she’s been pregnant, Halle said everything is going smooth, although she experienced the characteristic morning sickness and cravings.
"But now I'm into my second, so cravings have, you know, sort of tapered off, the sickness is gone," she said. "I just have all this energy. I want to just go, go, go and do my nursery and buy everything, although my mother says I need none of it."
Several days ago, while a guest on Jay Leno’s show, Berry slipped a tiny Jewish joke as a picture of her with a big nose was displayed and she said it made her look like her "Jewish cousin." The actress later apologized for the joke.
