HBO Chairman Arrested In Vegas

Chris Albrecht, the chief executive of HBO cable television network was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday in an alleged assault on his girlfriend, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The incident occurred outside the MGM Grand hotel little after 3 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Bill Cassell said, where Albrecht was for Saturday night's fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr..

Afterwards, he was spotted by police officers as he engaged in a "physical confrontation" with a woman identified only as his girlfriend, in the valet parking area.

"Some of our guys observed a domestic dispute between him and his girlfriend," Cassell said. "It was a physical confrontation."

The television mogul, divorced and father of two children, was taken into custody on the spot and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of a misdemeanor battery-domestic assault.

Chairman since 2002, Albrecht is given credit for encouraging the development of the company’s biggest hits including "Sex and the City," "The Sopranos" and "Six Feet Under."
