Guitar Hero World Tour Sales Are Not Spectacular

Guitar Hero: World Tour is the latest game in the Guitar Hero series and, unfortunately, the game has been reported that it’s not doing so well in terms of sales.

According to statistics, Activision only managed to sell 534,000 units in its first week of release, which is very little compared to other versions of the game.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, sold 1.4 million units in its first week of release in October 2007, almost twice as many copies than World Tour.

The reasons for which the game isn’t selling like it used to may be linked to the tough economic period we are going through. On the other hand, maybe Guitar Hero fans didn’t feel the need to extend their game collection, as the previous installments provide everything they need.

Guitar Hero: World Tour has been struck by bad luck from day one as numerous problems were reported in connection to the drum kits used in the game. Activision has stated that the problems are caused by some manufacturing errors and are only common in the “drum kits” made early in the manufacturing stage.

Activision has also stated that it will try harder to test their products before getting them on the market and that customers should try accessing the Activision Publishing customer support website for more information regarding the problems they might notice in their drum kits.

Guitar Hero World Tour is the fourth entry in the Guitar Hero series and it was released on almost all gaming platforms. Unfortunately, the game seems to lack the freshness and originality the first titles provided.
