“Guitar Hero III” Earned $115 M USD on First Week

Activision’s game, “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock” earned more than $115 million in its first week on sale only in North America, Variety.com said on its website. The game has not been released on Europe yet.

There is no need to discuss its popularity since it has so much success among millions of players. Everybody is talking since it has been released and it is the best gift the gaming addicts could ever wish for Christmas. That is what Robert Kotick, Chairman and CEO, Activision, Inc. underlines in a statement on TotalPlayStation.com:

"Guitar Hero III is the game that everyone is talking about. It is the only video game to make the Toys "R" Us Hot Toy list for 2007 and Toy Wishes' Hot Dozen 2007, which forecast the most popular holiday gifts of the season. Despite having significantly increased our production capabilities for the holiday, there is still a high likelihood that we will not be able to meet demand for this game on every platform.”

The game seems to be the second biggest title of the year following “Halo 3,” which earned $ 170 million only in its first day on sale.

This game allows its players to sing their preferate rock’ n’ roll songs in the intimacy of their home no matter if they have ever played an instrument before.

This third edition of “Guitar Hero” contains 70 rock songs of various artists or bands such as: Disturbed, Slipknot, The Killers, Aerosmith, A.F.I., Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Muse, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumkins and more others.

The greatest news is that its players can go online and play against others so there is no need for your friends to come over.
