Police initiated an investigation into a triple homicide which happened at a mobile home at 1918 Mobile Villa Drive north of Bearss Avenue, authorities said.
The bodies of the victims – two children aged 2 and 7 and their mother – were reportedly found inside the mobile home by police officers, Sheriff David Gee said according to ABCactionnews.com.
The mother of the two was about 20 years old.
Sheriff Gee, who inspected the scene of the murder, described it as "extremely gruesome" and said that the murderer also killed the family dog.
"It was an extremely gruesome scene, more so than we would normally see in a crime scene," Gee said at a news conference.
Detectives found a man hiding in the back bedroom of the mobile home. He was taken in to police custody, but it is not sure whether he is a suspect in the case or he was just hiding to avoid being killed as well.
The man is now at the police station for questioning.
According to the latest reports from the scene, detectives are waiting to receive a search warrant so they can examine the home in detail.
Police didn’t release the identities of the victims or how the killer put an end to their lives.
The 20-year-old mother had moved with her two children in the mobile home at 1918 Mobile Villa Drive north of Bearss Avenue about a year ago, ABC Action News reported.
