Although, there were some hopes that Grand Theft Auto franchise will make its way on Nintendo’s Wii, it seems like the winner is Nintendo DS, the handheld device produced by the Japanese company.
During Nintendo’s event at E3 a company official has announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, a new game that will take the players in the same well known Liberty City.
Apparently, the game will be released this December, but so far Nintendo didn’t release too many details, excepting that the game will have a new engine which will take advantage of DS’ touch screen.
For the GTA franchise, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be the third game released for the handheld devices. Rockstar released in 2005 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for Sony’s PSP.
The game was followed in 2006 by Vice City Stories. Rockstar released in 2004 Grand Theft Auto Advance for Game Boy Advance.
Besides Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown, Nintendo has announced also some other new titles for DS like Guitar Hero On Tour Decades and Spore Creature.
