The second season of "Gossip Girl" opened tonight
at 8 P.M. on Channels 31 and 44. The gang of rich teenagers is preparing to go
back to school after a summer full of gossip secrets and lies that wait to de
revealed.
However, the show has become known for its fashion rather
than for its script. The protagonists are real trendsetters among teenagers
across the U.S.A.The show's costume designer, Eric Daman,
agrees that his work influences retail but the thing is that he takes his inspiration
from art and film. So there’s a somewhat strange connection between the two.
This second season begins with the end of the summer
vacation in the East Hamptons, where Serena
van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and her stepbrother, Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick)
hang out. Serena and Nate (Chace Crawford) at the same time have
everyone fooled into thinking they are a couple to cover up the fact that Nate
has been hooking up with a married older woman. Throughout the summer Serena
also tried to get over her break-up with Dan (Penn Badgley).
Blair (Leighton Meester) returns from abroad with a brand
new boyfriend (Patrick Heusinger) which makes Chuck so very mad, of course.
Dan spent his summer away from Serena assisting a famous
author (guest
star McInerney), but decides to return to the Hamptons to set things straight between them.
Thus "Summer, Kind of Wonderful", the first
episode, kicks off with a lot of romance and passion that boiled up during the
whole summer.
