Kelly Rutherford, the actress who plays Lily van der Woodsen in the famous teen drama “Gossip Girl,” has recently filed for divorce from her entrepreneur hubby Daniel Giersch, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Rutherford is three months pregnant and filed the divorce papers on December 30. The couple got married in August 2006 and already has a 2-year-old son, Hermes. This is Rutherford’s second divorce. She was married to banker Carlos Tarajano, from June 2001 to January 2002.

In summer 2001, only a few days after their beautiful weeding, the 31-year-old Carlos had a cardiac arrest which almost killed him. Yet, after nights spent in the hospital and at home, taking care of her husband, Rutherford gave up and left him after half a year.

She then married German businessman Daniel Giersch in 2006 and gave birth to Hermes on October 18 of the same year at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Rutherford expects her second child with Giersch in June 2009, but the papers for divorce have already been submitted to a judge at Los Angeles Superior Court.

As an actress, Rutherford starred in “Generations,” “Melrose Place and “Homefront” in the early 1990s. In 1995, she played Frankie Collet in “The Great Defender” and a year later, she interpreted Caitlin Byrne in “Kindred: The Embraced.”

Rutherford also had a role as Special Agent Frankie Ellroy Kilmer in “Threat Matrix” from 2003 and a small role on “Scream 3” from 2000. Daughter of Ann Edwards, a writer and fashion mode, Rutherford was a witness of their parents’ divorce too.

She has a brother and two sisters, but she is the eldest of them.
