The recent issues reported by some Gmail users are currently being checked by the company’s programmers.
Google stated that a small number of Gmail users have encountered several problems earlier this week with their accounts and were unable to access their email. Some Gmail and also Apps customers reported 502 Gateway errors.
"We know how important Gmail is to our users, so we take issues like this very seriously, and we apologize for the inconvenience," the company’s post said.
The matter was resolved on Thursday and Google is now putting together a full incident report meant to make everything clear for the very few customers affected by the issues.
The users of Google’s Premier Edition also encountered these problems and considering the fact that it is a paid service with a $50 annual fee, the matter should have been resolved much faster. The affected users were rather upset, some of them leaving comments, posts or sending reports about their accounts’ situation. Still, the efforts were focused on all the accounts, free or paid, as Google’s actions and services aim very high standards and are usually tagged as reliable.
A network administrator wrote: "This is considered a mission-critical issue here. We may have to make other arrangements. Apparently, Google mail is not very reliable. I think I would have pushed for something else before we switched if I had known the level of unreliability."
Others were less aggressive, simply asking the company to do everything it can to fix the errors as soon as possible.
