Have you lost you job recently? If you’re among “yes” people, then you have one more reason to worry about: how is your family going to survive without health insurance? Luckily, Walgreen Co., the nation’s largest drugstore chain, is here to help you with free health care services through itsTake Care Health Systems clinics.
Therefore, people who lost their job on March 31 or after will now have the possibility to visit Walgreen’s in-store Take Care clinics for treatment of respiratory illnesses, such as colds, sinus infections, bronchitis and strep throat; common conditions, such as seasonal allergies and pink eye; skin conditions, such as dry skin, poison ivy, minor skin infections and burns.
Take Care Health Systems Inc. operates 342 Take Care clinics in the stores of Walgreens. The company says roughly 1.25 million people have visited the clinics since they opened more than three years ago. Given the current economic situation, the number of people visiting the clinics is expected to grow considerably.
Free health care services will be offered for free to customers of Walgreens who are able to prove they are receiving or will receive federal or state unemployment benefits. Free services are also available to spouses, children, and same-sex domestic partners who have been Take Care patients.
Free consultations and treatment will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
