Golf Enthusiasts Get Ready For The Show

The Augusta National Golf Club Masters reached its opening day celebration.

The most talked-about participant at the Augusta National is without question Tiger Woods and his pursuit of the first spot. All the media attention may not be considered fair by some of Phil Mickelson’s fans as he seems to be Tiger’s main adversary for the title.

Over the past four years, Phil Mickelson has won two Masters while Woods holds only one but at this point it doesn’t seem to matter.

According to the Associated Press, he has said: "I love this tournament and I love when I get here, how you don't have to be perfect. You don't have to hit everything well to be able to score well, I feel really good about my game," adding: "This is such a special place for us as players. And to have won here in the past means so much to me. I can't think of a better place to come back to every year and kick off our season," revealing a rather relaxed attitude towards the whole event.

A couple of months ago, Tiger Woods made a rather bold statement, considered by many a bit inappropriate, saying that winning all four majors this year would be “well within reason.” USA Today stated that Woods updated his affirmation saying: "You've just got to win the right four. That's what it boils down to," and grounds his enthusiasm on his very impressive achievements saying "You have to understand why I said that. I've done it before. I've won four in a row."

In 2000, he won the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, the British Open at St. Andrews and the PGA Championship at Valhalla, and later on won the 2001 Masters to hold all four major championship titles at the same time.

The two have had great runs over the past years and both displayed great enthusiasm about their participation in the event.
