Golden Globe Nominations, Finally Here!

One of the biggest ceremonies in Hollywood is approaching as we speak. Last year, the ceremony was replaced – much to the dismay of the public and of many designers that hoped to bring out their new designs and lavish and adorn stars with them – by a mere press conference, in order for the actors to how their support to the writer’s strike that was taking place at that moment.

This year, excitement is on the rise as the Golden Globes are returning to their traditional, glamorous format – and the stars are ready, now more so than ever, to leave us in awe, perhaps to compensate for their absence last year.

As it happens with every similar type of ceremony, there are some people and productions which are considered to be the favorites. For this year’s Golden Globe ceremony, it seems that the British are among the favorites. Such prime examples are Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas. The awards for both TV and film are awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Although similar to other award ceremonies, there is a significant difference between the Golden Globes and the Oscars or the BAFTAS, namely that the categories for dramas and comedies are different. These awards are usually a clear indicator of the favorites for the following ceremony, which is the Academy Awards ceremony.
