If you live either in or near Leroy, Minnesota mark down December 30, so you know when to go to the Red Cross Blood Drive at the Community Center from 1 to 7 p.m. It’s probably not the best day for a Blood drive but what better Christmas gift could you give to someone than your blood.
The small town runs four blood drives a year, an exemplary amount, which helps to save lives. The blood drives get good support form blood donors and workers, greeters and caterers.
The blood drive requires experienced donors as well as first-time and walk-in donors. The Leroy-Ostrander School’s students have also donated blood, some for the first time, and many have come back and become faithful donors, attending each drive. The last one was actually invaded by students, and passed its target by far. The same goal has been set for this year, so anyone is invited.
In Leroy as well as other places where blood drives are being organized in the near future, if you want to donate blood and have never done it before, you can speak to the local Red Cross crew, who can answer all your questions and help you with your first time.
Leroy, MN, is an example of a diligent and involved community, but you too can give blood wherever you live, as drives are being organized everywhere this holiday season, and this Christmas, your blood could give someone in trouble the best gift of all, life. Peace!
