A man in Cookeville,
Tennessee, was shocked when he
discovered that the MP3 video players he had bought for his children as gifts
for Christmas turned out to be loaded with explicit tunes and porn videos.
Daryl Hill said his 10-year-old daughter was more than thrilled when she found
Santa’s gift under the tree. Unfortunately, when she turned on the device, “my
daughter was crying. I wish I could take the thoughts and images out of her
head," he said according to the Associated Press.
Apparently, the store from where he bought it, a Wal-Mart in
Sparta, received
the device back from a previous owner who had loaded sex clips and songs with
lyrics about using drugs. He wondered why the store would sell used products as
new, violating one of its own policies.
A spokesperson from the Wal-Mart said they were investigating
the issue, as stores are not supposed to return opened packages to the sales
floor.
However, the problem does not end here, as Hill declined
Wal-Mart’s offer to replace the MP3 player and bought a new one for his
daughter. Moreover, the Hills are thinking of talking to a lawyer about the
issue.
One single conclusion can be drawn from this awful situation.
“Santa” shall look more carefully at what he is leaving under the tree.
