Today, Verizon Wireless, the nation's most reliable wireless
voice and data network, announced the highly anticipated Palm Treo 755p, which
Sprint has had in metallic red and blue since last spring. Verizon’s version is
a metallic dark bluish-green.
The new device follows the Windows Mobile Treo 700wx, which
hit the market in February this year and the Palm OS Treo 700p, which arrived
May 2006. The announcement comes a day before Palm’s scheduled investor relations
conference call and before Christmas season, which makes it the perfect gift for
the Palm fans.
Palm Treo 755p is now available on Verizon’s website for
$400 with two-year contract and a $100 on-line discount. In addition, this
telecom is offering a $50 mail-in rebate, dropping the price to $350.

which Verizon added in order to allow its users to place a call, launch an
application and perform other functions with spoken commands.
Compared to its Treo 700p predecessor, the Treo 755p is
smaller and slimmer having 5.6 ounces. It also has a high-resolution, color
touch-screen for quick stylus access to applications, and a full QWERTY
keyboard for easy e-mail creation, Web browsing and text messaging. The Treo
755p offers features such as a 1.3 megapixel camera and build-in support for
Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and PDF documents. It has 128
megabytes of internal memory, meaning almost 64 megabytes of internal storage
available to users and a miniSD slot with support for SDHC.
Verizon Wireless customers using the Treo 755p will benefit
of Verizon wireless’ EV-DO high-speed network to send and receive data. It is
already known that Verizon’s broadband network is the most reliable national
wireless broadband network in the country and available from coast to coast.
Verizon customers using the Treo 755p can also have the
possibility to get directions, perform local searches, view maps, satellite
imagery and traffic updates while on-the-go once installing Google Maps.
Palm Inc, known to be the global leader and innovator of easy-to-use
mobile products, which comes to people help offering them the possibility to
stay connected while on-the-go, has already announced its intention to release
an entirely new Palm OS Linux Platform in 2009, which represents an
