The Bush administration has failed too many times in providing a good health care system. Firstly, it didn’t succeed in addressing the problems of the millions of Americans who got uninsured and it also stopped the rising costs of health care. On the other hand, the Bush administration declined to expand the eligibility for the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
During 2008, the same administration cut Medicaid spending and supported unjustified subsidies for private health plans. Yet, the plans that George Bushy couldn’t take to an end are expected to be handed to Barack Obama and so to find a solution to them.
Yet, President Bush has its merit for the increase of the American support in controlling AIDS throughout the whole world. Bush even proposed an amount of $50 billion to be given for the fight against AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in the next five years all around the world.
According to the New York Times, President Bush has made an important record for a party which has dealt with AIDS victims sickened by gay inclination and injected substances.
Another spectacular thing made by Bush was that he had agreed to an expensive drug to be made under the Medicare program for older Americans despite stout opposition in his party to government-run health care. This decision dragged Medicare more closely to the modern medical era.
But in spite of all these trying, Bush failed in protecting most of the Americans from high medical costs. The only thing he could do regarding this aspect was to reduce the percentage of older Americans who lack drug coverage, from 33 percent before the program started to only 8 percent in 2006.
