Gary Dale, the chief operating officer of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., has announced that he will leave the company because of personal reasons. Take-Two have declared that they will not hire a new COO and that Gary dale will stop work immediately, though he will still receive payment until April 15th.

 His salary was set at $612,000 and he was guaranteed a bonus of not less than $275,000 for 2008. Gary Dale was made COO at Take-Two in August and the title was retroactive to July 1st. Take-Two Interactive Software is best known as the maker of Grand Theft auto, a game that is experiencing a great success.

GTA was among the first video games that managed to recreate the actual freedom you get in real life, allowing players to just move around huge cities without participating in the main plot of the game.

The open world games have started catching on, and amazingly other open-world games were started being called GTA-like games, clearly referring to the player’s freedom to stop the story and just interact with the environment.

The last GTA game was enjoyed a huge success and is regarded as the most complex Grand Theft Auto game ever made, allowing for the player to do basically anything he could do in real life, watch TV, go on the Internet, buy clothes and so on.

Dale declared that the reason he is resigning is personal and it is related to the fact that his contract stipulated that he should move from the office based in England to New York.
