More and more often we are left to see how
fame takes its toll on our favorite stars, especially on those who are known to
have a bit of a temper.
Actor Gary Coleman ,40, was involved in an
incident Saturday morning, when he hit a fan with his truck outside a bowling
alley in Salt Lake City, Utah. Former “Diff’rent Strokes” star was out with his wife, Shannon
Price, at that time. The police have declared that the incident followed an
argument which started inside the bowling alley when 24-year-old fan, Colt
Rushton, asked to take a couple of pictures of Coleman. According to Payson Police
Lieutenant Bill Wright, Rushton “took some of Gary Coleman, and [Coleman]
wasn't happy about it.” Apparently, the altercation continued outside where,
trying to back out of a parking space, the actor hit his fan and another
vehicle with his truck. The police stated it is still unknown whether Coleman
hit Rushton on purpose since neither of the two was too eager to give detailed
information about their argument. Although Rushton did get hospital treatment
for minor injuries, no charges were pressed.
This is not the first time Gary Coleman has
been involved in such conflicts with his fans. In 1998, in California, he punched a female fan who wanted his autograph after she had
allegedly offended him. He later accepted the charges of disturbing the peace
that had been pressed against him.
Gary Coleman became famous in the late 70’s
as a child star in the US TV show “Diff’rent Strokes”. Between 1978 and 1986,
he played Arnold Jackson, whose legendary line “Whatcoo talking bout, Willis?” earned
him tremendous popularity and secured
his position as one of the small screen’s unforgettable figures.
