Gary Coleman Charged for Hitting Fan with His Truck

Gary Coleman had a run-in with the law. The actor, best known for his "what'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?" line, faces charges of reckless driving and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident in which Coleman hit a man with his vehicle while leaving a bowling alley.

The incident took place in Utah in early September.

The actor was charged Wednesday, Sept. 17, and he was notified of the two misdemeanors by his attorney, according to Lt. Bill Wright of the Police Department in Payson, Utah.

"[Coleman] never spoke to us about what happened, but we gathered evidence after speaking to witnesses and the other party involved," Lt. Wright added.

Coleman will have to be present in court to face the charges brought against him on Oct. 14.

As for the incident, the man Coleman hit with his truck is 24-year-old Colt Rushton. The actor apparently became aggressive after the man snapped a photo of him. It is unclear whether Coleman hit the man on purpose, but it happened after the two had the argument over the photo.

“This wasn’t a situation of paparazzi or stalker-razzi, this was a fan snapping two photographs with a cell phone,” said the victim’s attorney, Dustin Lance.

Rushton filed suit against the actor seeking damages for medical bills, pain and suffering and punitive damages, People Magazine reported.
