GameStop Kicks Offs DSi Reservation Program

GameStop has recently announced that it was launching a reservation program that would enable gamers who are craving for Nintendo’s DSi handheld machine to pre-order the console and thus make sure that when April 5 comes, they will be the proud owners of Nintendo’s gadget.

In order to place a reservation for the gaming console, people need to make a $25 deposit, while the machine itself will sell for $169.99, yet gamers can get it with a starter pack for $194.89.

Nintendo’s DSi has already been released in Japan, the company having announced that the handheld device would hit the United States market on April 5.

The DSi, which is an update to the current DS Lite, will ship in blue and black models and feature larger screens, 2 cameras and an SD slot that has replaced the Game Boy cartridge slot with which previous and current models are fitted.

The screens are 3.25" instead of 3", while the DSi is also slimmer than the Lite model, with 18.9 mm, compared to the latter’s 21.9 mm.

Of the cameras, one is located on the external body of the console, whereas the other points at the user when the gadget is flipped open, whereas according to Nintendo, the camera setup allows gamers to interact with each other and also to introduce applications such as photo sharing.

Nintendo has also recently launched a new store application called DSi Ware, which will enable users to download software that makes use of DSi Points onto their gaming consoles.
