GTA IV Gets A Special Edition

One month after the first trailer of GTA IV, Rockstar revealed the launch date of its next title from the controversial franchise. Grand Theft Auto IV will be launched as a special edition a special edition on October 16 in North America and October 19 in Europe, the same day as the regular edition of Grand Theft Auto IV.

According to Rockstar, the Special Edition will be presented in a customized Grand Theft Auto metal safety deposit box. The box will contain:

- Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system or the PlayStation 3, both with special packaging

- The Grand Theft Auto IV Art Book, featuring never-before-seen production artwork from Grand Theft Auto IV

- Selected soundtrack CD from Grand Theft Auto IV, featuring new material from top artists, only available on this release

- An exclusive Rockstar keychain for the safety deposit box keys

Those gamers who eagerly await the Special Edition will have to spend $89.99 in North America or 89.99 euros in Europe. If you consider that spending $90 for a game is a lot of money, then you should know that Halo 3: Legend Edition is priced at $130.

Rockstar didn’t reveal any details about the game, beside the last month trailer.  . As you may know already the trailer introduces a character in Grand Theft Auto IV - a nasty looking guy with a Russian accent. "Life is complicated. I killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different.". he said. It’s still unclear if he is the main character of the game or just a member of a team.

The gameplay is also still a mystery. The previous games of the franchise were focused on a single player experience, but recent installments have dropped enough multiplayer modes to suggest that expanding beyond solo play is an interest of the series' development team.
