Brooke Bennett, the 12-year-old girl from Vermont who went missing on June 25 and was found dead a week later, will be laid to rest on July 9, at the Randolph Union High School. According to Fox44 News, a wake was set for Tuesday night at the same location.

The girl’s body was found Wednesday. Police said that her body was buried near Michael Jacques’ house. The man is charged with using a facility of interstate commerce for the purpose of kidnapping, referring to e-mail and Internet. Depending on what evidence is found regarding Brooke Bennett’s death, her uncle Michael Jacques could be sentenced to death or spend the rest of his life in jail.

Court documents have proven that her uncle planned to initiate Brooke Bennett into a child sex ring. The FBI said that a 14-year-old girl told investigators she had been with Brooke Bennett and with Michael Jacques on June 25. She also said he planned to initiate Brooke Bennett into a sex ring. Also, Brooke Bennett's former stepfather Raymond Gagnon was charged with obstruction of justice as he tried to modify some postings from Brooke Bennett’s MySpace page, in order to make it look like the 12-year-old girl had a secret date before she disappeared.

Police didn’t make public the cause of her death. On July 12, Brooke Bennett would have turned 13.
