Fujitsu Releases Its New LifeBook Tablet PCs

Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation announced today the release of its new 13.3-inch widescreen, LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 convertible tablet PCs, both equipped with the next generation Intel Centrino 2 processors.

The new tablet PCs target the mobile users always on the run, offering an easy solution for taking notes or navigating through applications.

"Mobile users want larger screens to view more information, but have a desire to minimize the associated weight and size creep -- and this is exactly what the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 convertible notebooks deliver," said Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product management for Fujitsu Computer Systems, during the official presentation. "Whether for a student taking notes in class, a healthcare provider making rounds, or a salesperson constantly on the road, we have a Fujitsu convertible tablet PC for every price point and computing requirement. We've covered all the bases with these two new platforms. It's what we do, and we do it very well," he added.

The LifeBook T5010, weighting in at 4.5 pounds, offers the vPro technology and also security and remote manageability. Its upgraded version, the LifeBook T1010 tablet PC, presents many of the same features and also the same performance, but it does not include the high-end security settings, rather useless for the average consumer, such as individual users, educational institutions or small businesses. The T1010 features a 13.3-inch widescreen WXGA LCD touch screen, a Webcam and also a built-in DVD Writer.

The two LifeBooks PCs have a bi-directional display which will enable users to turn the screen both ways, offering a flexibility found on very few such devices. They also include wireless connectivity options, optional Bluetooth v2.1 and wireless WAN.

The LifeBook T5010 tablet PC is available for $1,769 and the LifeBook T1010 tablet PC starts at $1,299 and depending on the configuration, the price goes up a bit further.
