Foxy Brown Finishes Her Sentence

Rapper Foxy Brown is finally out of prison after serving eight months out of her one-year sentence.

The troubles started in October 2006 with her three-year-probation sentence after assaulting two stylists. After she had kept a low profile for a year, in September 2007, she was accused of hitting a woman with a cell phone. After the incident, a judge decided that she was not taking her probation period seriously and sent her to prison for a year.

Unlike the rest of the inmates, which usually leave the prison in a public bus, Brown was picked up by New York City Councilman Charles Barron.

"The first place I want to go is church. I've got to get on my knees," said Brown, according to the Associated Press. Apparently, her plans were changed on the way, as she decided to go shopping in Harlem, ate and was escorted in a white Rolls Royce Phantom to her childhood home in Brooklyn.

Family and many friends were there to greet her and a VH1 crew was present to capture the emotional event.

She was also quoted by the AP as saying: "I did almost a year in prison, a year in prison, just because my name is Foxy Brown."

A reality show starring the rapper and her drama is expected to air in the near future. She is also preparing her first studio album in seven years, which is due on May 13.

Until now, she has released three solo albums, “Ill Na Na” in 1996, “Chyna Doll” in 1999 and “Broken Silence” in 2001.

Her next album is called "Brooklyn's Don Diva" and it will be released by Black Rose Entertainment/Black Hand/Koch.
