The Indianapolis Police Department announced on Saturday
that four suspects have been arrested in the case of the two mothers and their
children that have been fatally shot on January 14. The men will be taken to court
for preliminary hearings on Tuesday, police representatives said in a press
conference.
The four suspects will most likely be charged with the
murder of Gina Hunt, 24, and her son Jordan, 2 years old, and Andrea Yarrell,
24, and her daughter Charlii, just 4 month-old, who received several shots in
the head and the torso, in an attack that took Indianapolis by storm.
The men held in police custody at the moment are Dontae
Hobson, 30, and Ronald Davis, also 30, both facing two counts of murder, felony
murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, and Zarumin Coleman, 21, who
faces preliminary charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and assisting a
criminal, and Jasper Frazier, 36, charged with attempt to commit robbery and
conspiracy to commit robbery, who turned himself in to the Toledo Police days
before the arrests were made.
IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhamell said during the news conference: “We
think we got the primary people that were involved in the homicide,” while Sheriff
Frank Anderson added: “To the victims, I wish them, and I hope that they rest
in peace. And to the ones who did this, I hope there is no peace for them.”
A motive for the horrible attack has not been officially
released to the press, as the investigation continues in the multiple homicide
case on Hovey Street, northeast side of the town. More witnesses are likely to
appear now that the suspects have been arrested, and the police investigators
are hoping for new information related to the killings to come to light. Although
work still needs to be done in this case, police representatives are convinced
the case will be solved as soon as possible.
