Lynda Carter, the actress who played the title role in the fantasy-adventure TV series Wonder Woman which aired from 1975 to 1979, has found a body in Washington's Potomac River earlier this week. She spotted the body and asked fishermen to call the police while she stood at the site. When rescuers reached the spot she directed them to the body of Helen Johnstone, 47.
It is still unknown why the victim died or how the body got into the river. Carter told the press that what she has done was nothing out of the ordinary. The college dropout reached fame in 1972 when she won Miss World USA representing Arizona. She reached the semi-finals of Miss World and subsequently took acting classes. After several TV shows and B-movies, she eventually landed her starring role in the "Wonder Woman" television series.
She is currently married to Robert Altman, her second husband, who made headlines by being the central figure in a lengthy and highly publicized jury trial for banking and securities fraud in 1992. He was found not guilty. The couple have two children, James and Jessica Altman. He is currently chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks, LLC.
