An investigation is under way into the strange death of former Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Tom McHale. The now 45-year-old retired football player was found dead inside a home of a close friend of his in Wesley Chapel, Fla.
The dead body of former American football guard was found by his friend yesterday (May 25) early in the morning in the home located in the Tampa Bay area, said the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office also said an autopsy will be carried out in the following days.
Authorities said investigators aren’t sure how Tom McHale died but a foul play wasn’t suspected.
Tom McHale began his sportive career by playing football for the Cornell University, a a private university located in Ithaca, New York.
He turned pro after graduating and played as an offensive lineman for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers between 1987 and 1992. He then transferred to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played 21 games in the following two years – 1993 and 1994.
The former Cornell star then spent another season playing with the Miami Dolphins.
